    Work Permit should be applied online begin February, 2018 (2nd semester of academic year 106). Please refer to the following information before applying:

    How to apply for the Work Pwemit Online?
    1. Please enter the website is https://tinyurl.com/yx9qg98y (Browser shall be IE 9.0 or above on computer only)
    2. Please select User Manual and read the guidebooks for Students .
    3. Log in according to the manual , please select the Work permit for foreign students, overseas Chinese students and Ethnic Chinese Students→ Apply for an account
    4. After applying for an account, please enter your account and password and start to apply.
    5. Be sure to upload the following 4 files (Upload size limit for one single PDF file: 1MB. A warning message will appear and the uploading process will be banned if the file size exceeds the limit).
    (1) Photocopy of passport
    (2) Photocopy of Students ID card ( Should be stamped by NCYU Academic Office for checking the registration)
    (3) Front and back photocopy of the resident certificate (ARC)
    (4)Others (Including school required): Please fill in the form of NCYU International Student Application for Work Permit with supporting docoments, and collect the stamps from your adviser, chair and dean of your own deparment.

  • 1.Info about medical Coverage Policy +

    Coverage Policy

    Insurance covers accidents or sickness occurring within Taiwan ONLY. Accidents or sickness requiring specialized medical care or occurring before the insurance policy was taken out will not be covered.

    Outpatient/Emergency treatment benefit:

    While this Policy is still effective, if the Insured suffers an illness or injury and receives (emergency) treatment at a hospital/ clinic as an outpatient, the company will reimburse all medical expenses incurred. However, the payment of benefit shall not exceed the limit of 1000NTD (per visit).

    Daily Hospital miscellaneous benefit
    While this Policy is still effective, if the Insured suffers an illness or injury and receives treatment at a hospital as an inpatient, the company will reimburse the following expenses incurred.
    1.Balance billing on hospital rooms.
    2.Food, except for nutrients provided through tube feeding.
    3.Nursing care fee excluding special nurse fee.
    However, the payment of benefit shall not exceed the limit of 1000NTD (per day).

    Hospital miscellaneous benefit
    While this Policy is still effective, if the Insured suffers an illness or injury and receives treatment at a hospital as an inpatient, the company will reimburse the following expenses incurred.
    1.Physician instructions medication.
    2.Blood, except for blood transfusions deemed necessary by a doctor providing emergency care
    3.Registration fee and cost of obtaining related certificates
    4.Ambulance fee(from or between hospital).
    5.Operation fee.
    6.Operation room, post-operative recovery room, emergency room or the application of its equipment.
    7.Materials fee.
    8.Laboratory tests, electrocardiogram, basal metabolic rate check.
    9.Rehabilitation therapy.
    10.Anesthetics, oxygen, and its application.
    11.Therapeutic radiology.
    12.Hemodialysis.
    13.Injection and its liquid medicine.
    14.Laboratory examination.
    15.Treatment.
    However, the payment of benefit shall not exceed the limit of 120,000 NTD (per hospitalization).

The terms and conditions of insurance policy (Chinese version) shall prevail if there is any inconsistency between the above information and the insurance policy.

    Outpatient/Emergency Treatment Benefit

    While this Policy is still effective, if the Insured suffers an illness or injury and receives outpatient or emergency treatment at a hospital/clinic, the company will reimburse all medical expenses incurred (including registration, diagnosis, prescription, medicine, examination or X-ray inspection, etc.). The payment of benefit shall not exceed the limit of NT$1,000 per visit.

    Room and Board Benefit
    While this Policy is still effective, if the Insured suffers an illness or injury and receives treatment at a hospital as an inpatient, the company will reimburse the following expenses incurred:
    1. Ward fees of upgrade hospital rooms excessive of National Health Insurance supplemented.
    2. Meals, except for fees of tube feeding.
    3. Nursing care fees excluding special nurses fees.
    The payment of benefit shall not exceed the limit of NT$1,000 per day. The maximum days per hospital stay is 365 days.

    Hospital Miscellaneous Medical Expenses Benefit:
    While this Policy is still effective, if the Insured suffers an illness or injury and receives treatment at a hospital as an inpatient, the company will reimburse the following expenses incurred.
    1. Physician instructions medication.
    2. Blood, except for blood transfusions deemed necessary by a doctor providing emergency care.
    3. Registration fee and cost of obtaining related certificates.
    4. Ambulance fee (from or between hospitals).
    5. Physician examination fees (including consultation fees).
    6. Operation fee.
    7. The application of operation room and its equipment, treatment room and its equipment.
    8. Symptomatic prescription drug by attending physician.
    9. Dressings, surgical splints and plaster plastic.
    10. Laboratory tests, electrocardiogram, basal metabolic rate check.
    11. Symptomatic of the necessary physical therapy.
    12. The application of Anesthetics and oxygen.
    13. X-ray examination.
    14. Injection and its liquid medicine.
    15. Transfusion of blood or plasma infusion fee for the emergency treatment purpose based on the physician’s diagnosis.
    16. All kinds of treatment materials (including special materials, surgical materials, with the exception of sanitary materials)
    17. Additional medical expenses payable by the National Health Insurance.

    The payment of benefit shall not exceed the limit of NT$120,000 per hospital stay. The maximum days per hospital stay is 365 days.

    Daily Hospital Indemnity Benefit:
    While this Policy is still effective, if the Insured suffers an illness or injury and receives treatment at a hospital as an inpatient, the company will pay Daily Hospital Indemnity benefit NT$1,000 multiplied by actual days of hospitalization. The maximum days per hospital stay is 365 days.
    However, if the insured applies for the Daily Hospital Indemnity benefit, she/he cannot apply for Room and Board benefit and Hospital Miscellaneous Medical Expenses benefit for the same hospital stay.

  • 1.What is「Work Permit」? +

    1. What is Work Permit?
    If a foreign student wishes to work in Taiwan(in or off campus),they have to apply for permission first, this is according to article 68 in Employment Services Act. If one is employed without obtaining a legal work permit first, they would be fined more than 30000NT dollars and may lose their residence status and have to leave the country. Also, according to article 63 in Employment Services Act, the employer who hires a foreigner without legal working permission would be fined 150000 to 750000 NT dollars.

    2. How to apply for work permit?
    Required documents
    (1) Official Application Form (This form has two versions, Chinese and English, and that in the event of any discrepancy, the Chinese version shall prevail. If you want to apply for it, please fill in the official application form. If you want to know more details in English, please check here)
    (2) A photocopy of Student ID card (Double Check whether it has been stamped for this semester and affixed to the application form)
    (3) School report of full-year language course(s) (the students who study in language center needs to provide it)
    (4) Original postal remittance receipt for examination fee (NT $100 per person). Applicant may pay either by postal remittance through the account of Workforce Development Agency (Account Number: 19058848) or to the WDA’s cashier counter in person.
    (5) A photocopy of passport and a photocopy of Alien Residency Certificate of the front and back.
    (6) In addition to the above 5 items, the applicant shall provide pertinent proof of documentation on one of the following categories. Those who have exceptional competence in a foreign language and plan to work as a teacher on a part-time basis at the college/ university affiliated language center or foreign education institute affiliated language center in Taiwan during his or her study in Taiwan, after obtaining permission from the Ministry of Education, can submit a photocopy of the said permission letter in lieu of the proof of documentation stated above.
    (a) Attesting that a student is unable to continue whose study or living expenses, and cable to provide tangible proof.
    (b) Attesting that the teaching and search unit that the student studies in is in need of having foreign students to participate in the work.
    (c) Attesting that it is relevant to the subject program the student studies to require internship outside of the school.
    (d) Attesting that a foreign student who is studying for master degree enroll in a graduate institute and have been approved by the school in which the said foreign workers enroll to conduct relevant researching work.

    Note:
    1. After filling in the form, preparing the other documents and stamping, a student can mail the application themselves. OIA also post work permit applications for students every month on the 15th.

  • 1.What is「National Health Insurance」? +

    1Intro: Taiwan’s NHI is a compulsory program. Its coverage extends to virtually all the population in Taiwan. With this safety net, everyone is protected: if anyone falls ill, gets injured, give birth etc. they can receive medical service.

    2Who is qualified? Foreign students enrolled in educational institutes in Taiwan and have ARCs may join the NHI from the time they have resided in Taiwan for 6 full months. (During this 6-months-period they are permitted to leave Taiwan only once, for no more than 30 days).

    3How to join? Foreign students with ARCs can join the NHI with the assistance of OIA, Division of International Students Affairs

    4Period of Insurance CoverSept to Feb in the fall semester, March to Aug in the spring semester

    5Special notes
    (1) When any student graduates, suspends their studies or drops out etc. They need to come to OIA to apply to transfer/cancel their NHI.
